Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow is a Washington-based nonprofit public interest organization, founded in 1985, that promotes free-market and safe technological solutions to current consumer and environmental concerns. The Amazing Environmental Organization Directory! is the result of a group of hard-working people dedicated to helping others keep in touch and informed on the World Wide Web. With thousands of sites, it is the largest exclusively environmental organization directory on the Web and includes sites from over 100 countries. The National Environmental Trust (formerly known as the Environmental Information Center) is functioning as the resource for several major public education campaigns about environmental issues. Through a network of grassroots organizers around the country, and with attention-getting advertisements, reports, and press events, it is "getting the word out" about the importance of such issues a global climate change, air quality, hormone disruptors and our reproductive future, and our right to know about toxic chemicals. The Chemical Industry Homepage provides links to chemical company and industry association web pages, as well as to management, chemical sales, environmental, and analytical chemistry resources -- and more. Well worth the trip over and over again. The National Wilderness Institute calls itself the "voice of reason on the environment!" keeping people informed about common sense ideas covering a variety of issues including endangered species, land use rights, and environmental regulations. NWI's viewpoint is that people using a little creativity together with innovative technology offer the best solutions for environmental problems. The Texas Toxics Release Inventory Report provides release and transfer information for Texas, including detailed reports on individual facility emissions. The Natural Resources Defense Council provides four sites that are chock full of information on a variety of environmental issues worldwide. Their technical website, which provides reports, unpublished research, Congressional testimony, and other materials by lawyers, scientists, and analysts at NRDC is of special interest. The Environmental Policy Task Force of the National Center for Public Policy Research focuses on a variety of environmental issues. |

The Junk Science Homepage "Junk science" is bad science used by personal injury lawyers to shake down deep-pocket businesses; the "food police" and environmental Chicken Littles to fuel wacky social agendas; power-drunk regulators; cut-throat businesses to attack competitors; and slick politicians and overly ambitious scientists to gain personal fame and fortune. "All the Junk That's Fit To Debunk" is compiled by Steve Milloy, who is the current president of The Advancement of Sound Science Coalition, a non-governmental organization "dedicated to ensuring the use of sound science in public policy decisions." The Heartland Institute web page's "Environmental Corner" - includes links to "Environment News," the Institute's monthly summary of articles and think tank research on environmental issues and PolicyFax, which provides abstracts of even more articles on environmental and other public policy issues. The Greening Earth Society is a new venture created by the Western Fuels Association "to counter environmental policies shaped in wrong science and imposed on [earth's citizens] by a government influenced by negative thinkers -- that is, those who want to abolish the use of fossil fuels. Texans for Public Justice says its mission is to protect consumer rights and enforce corporate accountability in Texas. Quite a mission! The Galveston-Houston Association for Smog Prevention is a group of citizens who want clean, healthy air who keep in contact with the City of Houston's Bureau of Air Quality Control, Harris County Pollution Control, TNRCC, and EPA as well as many nongovernmental organizations. The Environmental Education Network acts as a clearinghouse for all environmental education information, materials, and ideas on the Internet. The Environmental Literacy Council brings together scientists, economists, educators, and other experts to inform environmental studies. The site is intended to help students and teachers study environmental issues by guiding them to the best resources available on the Internet. The National Center for Policy Analysisdevotes a section of its website to environmental issue analysis and commentary.
